Robert “Nitebob” Czaykowski brings more than five decades of experience at the highest levels of the live music industry, with a career spanning sound engineering, tour management, guitar technology, live production, and professional music equipment development.

Over the course of his distinguished career, Nitebob has worked with an extraordinary roster of legendary artists and bands, including Aerosmith, KISS, Ace Frehley, Joe Perry, the New York Dolls, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, and Steely Dan. He also served as guitarist Walter Becker’s guitar technician and consultant, bringing his extensive technical knowledge and meticulous attention to the instruments and equipment behind one of rock music’s most influential musicians.

Nitebob’s expertise extends well beyond the stage. A recognized authority on guitars, amplification, live sound, and professional music equipment, he has collaborated with leading manufacturers on the development and refinement of musical gear. His influence is reflected in the dedicated “Nitebob” setting on Fender’s Cyber-Twin SE amplifier—a testament to the depth of his knowledge of guitar tone and amplification.

His career continues today. Nitebob toured with The Chesterfield Kings in 2024 and 2025 and with The Romantics in 2026 as part of their tour alongside Toto and Christopher Cross, extending a remarkable career that has evolved alongside more than half a century of changes in touring and live music production.

Nitebob is also co-creator, co-producer, and co-host of The Soundcheck Diaries with Nitebob and Rich Nesin: Touring Tales, Truths, and Teachings, a video podcast drawing upon decades of firsthand experience in the music business. Through behind-the-scenes stories and technical insight, the series explores touring, sound engineering, guitars, musical instruments, production, and the realities of life on the road.
